Walking With God

When I was a little girl the old folks in my church used to sing a song called,"Walk With Me, Lord." Never has there ever been a more biblically incorrect song that Christians have sung. God is not supposed to walk with us; we are supposed to walk with Him. Genesis 3:8 reveals how Adam walked with God in the cool of the day. Enoch also walked with God. (Gen. 5:24) We too, are to walk with God and enjoy intimate fellowship with Him on a daily basis. Are you walking with God in your Christian journey?

Many Christians struggle in their walk with God because instead of "taking His yoke" and "learning of Him" to be able to walk with God, they are indeed doing what the song the old folks sang by trying to get God to walk with them. God will never walk with man because God is all-wise and His ways are not like our ways. Neither is His thoughts like our thoughts. God cannot reduce Himself ot man's level; therefore, we must strive to come up to His.

Enoch walked with God and he did not taste death because his walk with God produced righteousness. Enoch feared the Lord and obeyed God in every area of his life. We can do the same thing, if we choose to. God's word is the roadmap we can use to follow God fully. To some this may seem impossible, but it is not. "With men it may seem imposible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)

This year, I encourage you walk with God and experience the greatest love, joy and peace ever.
