Sleeping With the Enemy, pt. 5

There was once a popular TV ad that stated, "You are what you eat."  If this is true naturally, it's also true spiritually.  So what are you eating?  Do you have a strong spirutal diet that consists of the word, prayer, fasting, and worship?  If you don't, you are eating a non-nutritious diet that is feeding your flesh.

Believers must constantly feed the Spirit with the word of God (and you will NOT fulfill the lust of the flesh) in order to win the war.  Christians can’t afford to sit around watching all sorts of ungodly programs on television.  Television itself is not evil, but what you chose to watch can be.  Believers cannot grow or mature spiritually if they are continuously piping all sorts of carnal TV programs or movies and worldly music into their spirit all day long.  To do so is to automatically give the battle over to the flesh.  No Believer should watch programs or movies that contain profanity or sexual scenes.  Proverbs 6:27 warns, "Can a man take fire into his bosom and not be burned?" This is playing with fire.  If you are going to watch television, watch programming that is family-oriented and that have a G-rating.  If you accidentally watch something that you didn’t know was in the program or movie, cut if off and repent.

Nor should believers listen to music that contains profanity.  Whatever goes into your ear-gates and eye-gates goes directly into your spirit without your permission, especially music.

I made a remarkable discovery about the cell phone.  IT HAS AN OFF BUTTON.  I can turn it on or off whenever I chose.  I do not have to listen to conversations that are not profitable to my spirit-man.  I have found that fasting from my cell phone gives me time to study the Word of God and to pray.  It gives me that additional time I need I in the morning for my daily devotion.  I have to make time for God and whenever I fast from  my cell phone, I find that I have plenty of  time to do the  things I used to think I didn’t have enough time for.  I’ve heard many Christians say they don’t have time to pray in the morning.  I challenge you to wait until after you’ve had your morning devotion before cutting on your cell phone.  Fast often from your cell phone and you will be amazed at the amount of free time you have.  You won’t miss a beat because your messages will go directly to your voice mail.

SEXUAL SIN BRINGS REPROACH UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD!  The Lord told David, “You have caused the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme the Lord.”  (2 Sam. 12:14)  David and Sampson were chosen by God to be spiritual leaders of the people.  God’s leaders are supposed to hold a higher standard.  When the leaders of the Church fall into sexual sin, it brings reproach upon God’s Holy name.  The scripture says, “It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness.”  (Prov. 16:12)

Succumbing to sexual sin, can cause you forfeit your divine destiny in one single instance.  I pray that you who are reading this blog will take heed before it's too late.  God had to send the prophet Nathan to David.  BEWARE when God sends you a prophet!
